Description
Hexa Iso-Extract is an aqueous solution of the potassium salts of hexahydro-iso-alpha acids produced entirely from CO2-extract. Hexa will greatly enhance beer foam when used as a post fermentation replacement for a proportion of the regular bittering. In the absence of normal alpha and iso- alpha acid, Hexa will give complete protection against development of light-struck flavors.

Usage & Methods
- 3 ppm up to 5 ppm for improved foam
- Include link for bench-top testing in bottles or kegs
- Good – add product to empty vessel and push with nitrogen (NOT CO2) into beer line when starting to fill tank
- Better – Add product to empty beer keg and fill with pH 8-9 adjusted de-aerated, de-ionized water and push with nitrogen (NOT CO2) into beer line when starting to fill tank
- Best – meter the concentrated product into transfer stream using a diaphragm pump. Attempt to delivery evenly throughout 80% of the transfer of beer. Dispense solution into the beer transfer stream pre filtration
Notes & Recommendations
- Hexa contributes a bitterness profile like that of iso-alpha acids. 1 ppm of hexa will contribute 1 – 1 IBU’s of bitterness
- Post fermentation for best utilization and efficiency
- Inject on suction side of beer transfer pump
- Do not add to DE slurry tanks
- Make sure introduced at least 5 Meters upstream of filter
- Diluting with beer lowers utilization and can result in precipitation of resins
Package & Shipping
- Product will freeze – must ship next day air during winter months
- Only use nitrogen to purge container headspace free of air – CO2 will react causing precipitation
