Description
Rho is a pure, aqueous solution of the potassium salts of rho-iso-alpha acids produced entirely from CO2-extract. Rho gives protection from light-struck flavor when used as the complete source for hop-derived bittering or in combination with other reduced hop products. Rho will provide a smoother, non- lingering bitterness compared to regular iso-alpha acids.

Usage & Methods
- Kettle = 45% – 55% utilization
- Post-fermentation = 70% – 85% utilization
- (Kettle) Add anytime during boil
- (Post Fermentation) :
- Good – add product to empty vessel and push with nitrogen (NOT CO2) into beer line when starting to fill tank
- Better – Add product to empty beer keg and fill with pH 8-9 adjusted de-aerated, de-ionized water and push with nitrogen (NOT CO2) into beer line when starting to fill tank
- Best – meter the concentrated product into transfer stream using a diaphragm pump. Attempt to delivery evenly throughout 80% of the transfer of beer. Dispense solution into the beer transfer stream pre filtration
- Inject on suction side of beer transfer pump
Notes & Recommendations
- Post fermentation for best utilization and efficiency
- Inject on suction side of beer transfer pump
- Do not add to DE slurry tanks
- Make sure introduced at least 5 Meters upstream of filter
- Diluting with beer lowers utilization and can result in precipitation of resins
- Product will freeze – must ship next day air during winter months
Package & Storage
- Open containers should be used within 3-4 weeks and headspace purged using nitrogen (avoid using CO2)
- Rho 30% may form crystals which can be re-dissolved by warming container overnight
