HOPS CONTAIN RADICAL SCAVENGING PROPERTIES
Hops contain a unique polyphenol known as xanthohumol. This prenylflavonoid compound possesses marked hydroxyl radical scavenging properties. Hopsteiner produces a number of xanthohumol products that vary in levels of purity. Hopsteiner also produces isoxanthohumol (an isomerized xanthohumol product), and 8-prenylnaringenin (which is a potent phytoestrogen).
Antioxidant Hop Products
The strong antioxidative effects of xanthohumol, a prenylflavonoid found in hops, are the focus of intense research in recent years.
